CoRe Finishes P6 (GTP) & P3 (GTD) In iRacing Daytona 24h 2025 Special Event!
The 2025 iRacing Daytona 24h proved to be the largest special event on iRacing’s yearly calendar once again – with nearly 60 splits in the Saturday 1 PM race alone, it was another expected monumental challenge. CoRe SimRacing fielded two lineups : A Ferrari 499P in the GTP category (Split 2), driven by Marcus R Fox, Pascal Stix, Sven Neumann, and Maik Paluch, and a Corvette GT3 in the GTD category (Split 7), driven by Sven Lottmann, Thomas Arends, Dominik Engel, and CoRe recruit Tom Kunath. The event was defined by two lengthy rain periods, making survival the top priority, as more than two-thirds of the field retired in most splits. Despite the challenging conditions, both CoRe cars crossed the finish line and endured the soak, with the GTP team securing P6 and the GTD team finishing P3.

In Split 2, the GTP team started P9 out of 22 entries after a strong qualifying lap by Pascal. The race was highly competitive, with rain dominating the first night, drying briefly in the late hours, only to return in the early morning before clearing up for the final few hours. Every driver faced moments of difficulty, with crashes and damage repairs becoming part of the race narrative. Pascal Stix showed solid pace but could not escape costly errors, including a crash during the drying phase. Sven N. delivered consistent performances, managing the tricky conditions effectively on the day after and helped to steady the team’s race after a run-off into the tyre wall before. Maik struggled with mistakes during both the early and morning stints despite pace was solid keeping the team in contention. Marcus, competing in his first CoRe event, handled the car safely and effectively during his dry stints, ensuring the team stayed on race plan. Despite all the setbacks the GTP team had, finishing P6 in Split 2 in such a demanding race was a solid achievement for the team.

In Split 7, the GTD team began their race in P18 after a qualifing run by Thomas. As the GTD team experienced a similarly grueling event like the GTP squad, they proved their survival crucial to their P3 podium finish result. The Corvette GT3 endured several crashes and damage repairs too, but teamwork and focus kept the car in the race. CoRe veteran Thomas returned to 24-hour racing with a steady and reliable drive. Newcomer Sven L. impressed with cautious yet effective stints, combining great pace with consistency to help the car stay competitive. Tom, set to officially join CoRe soon, showcased his potential with clean and focused stints. Dominik played a key role by keeping the car safe through difficult moments, similar to Marcus’s role in the GTP effort. The team’s ability to adapt to the challenging conditions ultimately secured a hard-fought 3rd place.

The 2025 Daytona 24h will and is always remembered as one of the most difficult endurance events in recent iRacing history. The relentless rain in this 2025 edition and the intense competition pushed all teams to their limits, testing patience, skill and adaptability. Both CoRe SimRacing teams overcame all the setbacks, finishing their races and delivering respectable results. While not without frustration and challenges along the way, the effort and persistence from all involved ensured a satisfying team outcome. Onto the next one!
