CoRe SimRacing Clinches Double Top-10 in 2025 iRacing Spa 24h Split 4!
The 2025 edition of the iRacing Spa 24h saw CoRe SimRacing take on the virtual Ardennes rollercoaster with two entries in Split 4 of overall 28 splits of GT3 machinery. Both teams, CoRe SimRacing One (#230) with Tom Kunath, Sven Neumann, Sven Lottmann, and Sami Heiskanen, and CoRe SimRacing Two (#240) with Pascal Stix, Marcus R. Fox, Dominik Engel and fresh CoRe recruit Bennett Parsons, lined up in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for a 59-car grid, aiming to survive the endurance race and fight through the chaos in one of sim racing’s most iconic endurance challenges.

Starting from the midfield after qualifying laps from Tom Kunath (#230) and Pascal Stix (#240), the race quickly turned dramatic. Just after the Les Combes corner on the opening lap, a major incident unfolded. While Tom managed to navigate through unscathed, Pascal had no way to avoid the carnage and was forced to tow the #240 car back to the pits due to front end damage. After the tow, #240 had to tackle this event with a big setback, already two laps down before the first hour had passed.

Despite the setback, both cars launched strong comeback drives. Tom delivered a stellar opening stint for the #230, storming from P28 to P8, showcasing top-tier racecraft and composure. Meanwhile, the #240 began its long recovery, climbing from P55 with determination and consistency. Four hours in, CoRe SimRacing One had worked their way up to P5, with Sven Neumann showing impressive pace and even briefly holding P2 during the early strategy cycles. The #240 car had also clawed its way into the top 40, running in P37 and steadily gaining ground with each stint. However, momentum was disrupted as Sven Lottmann suffered a hardware failure in the #230, briefly halting their progress. At the halfway mark, the #230 sat in P12, just seconds off the top 10 despite a spin that cost 20 valuable seconds. The #240 car, meanwhile, had broken into the P24 range, grinding back into the mix after a tough start. By the early morning hours, both CoRe machines were back where they belonged—inside the top 20, with the #230 making its way into the top 10 once again and #240 closing in fast. The final quarter of the race brought out the best of all the CoRe drivers. Faultless execution, strong stints, and smart strategy saw both teams push to the finish with relentless focus. After 24 grueling hours, CoRe SimRacing One (#230) crossed the line in a fantastic P6, while CoRe SimRacing Two (#240) completed their remarkable recovery drive with a hard-earned P10 – a double top-10 finish in one of simracing’s most demanding endurance events.

A huge congratulations to all the drivers involved — Tom Kunath, Sven Neumann, Sven Lottmann, and Sami Heiskanen in the #230, and Pascal Stix, Marcus R. Fox, Bennett Parsons, and Dominik Engel in the #240 — each of whom played a crucial role, showing persistence and performance throughout a full weekend of racing. With the summer months ahead, the next iRacing special events await, and the motivation gained from this result will carry the team forward into the next challenge with the same spirit and sportsmanship.
