P11 for CoRe SimRacing At Sebring!
The fifth round of the Virtual Racing School GT iRacing World Championship Series was held at Sebring for a four hours race. Starting with the sunrise and the qualification session CoRe was able to start from P19 and P20 off the grid. Due to damage the CoRe Orange team including Sindre and Janne only could finish 33rd. CoRe Black including Thomas and Carl ended the race in a solid 11th position.
Both CoRe SimRacing teams were able to escape from collision in turn 4 after starting from the mid-pack of the field. Carl did get past by Sindre in the early stages of the race – a lot of position changes were happening. After a couple of minutes both teams were able to advance several positions and started fuel saving in P14 and P15. Both teams had to defend positions against Vendaval, Drivex, SimRC, Williams and PRT. When two hours were done, it was time for drivers changes in both CoRe cars so Janne and Thomas could jump in.
Janne could not even finish two turns after being released from the pits. He got punted off the race track by MSI who were not able to brake in time once again. Janne was able to stop the car before hitting the tyre barrier and recovered, but several positions were lost because of that. In the meanwhile Thomas continued putting in solid laptimes and was able to maintain an 11th position. After 4 hours of racing CoRe Black sadly missed out a Top-10 result. CoRe Orange ended up in P33 after another crash. The broadcast of this race can be found here.
