Setsaas & Fuglesang win at Hockenheim, Setsaas becomes new Norwegian champion!

We review the final round of the 2021 Norwegian SimRacing Grand Prix took place at the german circuit of Hockenheim. As a result of an exciting and fantastic finale, both Setsaas and Fuglesang won their heat races. Nevertheless CoRe SimRacing driver Sindre Setsaas has been slightly superior in the Porsche 911 Cup car – and secured the Norwegian champion title already in the sprint race, before last year’s champion Benjamin Fuglesang finished first in the main race with Setsaas right behind him. Carl Fredrik Hersoug and Jarl Teien secured and rounded up 2nd and 3rd place together.

For Setsaas, the situation was quite clear – he had to take more or as namy points as his challengers in qualifying and the sprint race, he would be Norwegian champion even before the main race. Setsaas, who has been both fast and reliable in the season sofar and has always delivered every race day this season, swept all doubts aside when he first won the qualification, started on pole, and stayed in the lead all rounds of the sprint race. It was enough in the end for Setsaas who crossed the line as Norwegian SimRacing Champion 2021 and taking home a good amount of cash prizes with him.

“What a way to end the SimRacing Grand Prix season! Pole position, win in the sprint and P2 in the main! Almost a clean sweep! Thanks to my hard competitors this season, makes it feel ever so sweeter to win!” – Sindre Setsaas on his victory.
