CoRe Podiums Round 2 with 2nd in GT3!
The 2019 Sports Car Open GT Series kicked off with their 2nd round of the season – on the calendar was Imola with a four hours race into the night. CoRe SimRacing was up with their two entries again, this time including Jason Stehney and Markus Blohm in the GTC car and Sindre Setsaas and Pascal Stix in the AMG GT3. The GT3 entry came home in a great 2nd place while the Porsche had to retire after a crash.
The CoRe GT3 entry qualified in 4th position with Sindre behind the wheel while Jason qualified the GTC car in 5th. Sindre was immediately attacking the cars in front for turn one and went side by side for a fight. He was able to keep the fourth position for the next couple of laps until the traffic favored him a 3rd place. It had to be defended though but after few hours Sindre was able to settle with the 2nd place. On the other hand Jason was involved in a crash in the first turn. After positions were lost as a result of that the race ended for the GTC entry after a major incident in the Aqua Minerale corner. Meanwhile Pascal, who was up to finish the second half of the race, had connection issues – Sindre had to take over for a triple stint. After that one was ended by Sindre, Pascal was able to finish the race and brought home a podium position for CoRe SimRacing. The next round will be at Philip Island.
