CoRe Delivers at IMSA 90 Minutes of Sebring iRacing Event!
It was an exciting battle all distance long at Sebring for the so-called iRacing IMSA 90 Minutes of Sebring – CoRe SimRacing represented several drivers in the top split including Ross Balfour, Kimmo Suominen, Patrick Kubinji and Thomas Gibson in the RS3 TCR class while Sindre Setsaas raced in the new Porsche 718 GT4. A fierce fight against ineX-Racing’s Jack Sedgwick, RSO’s Cedrik Nebelsiek and real-life Porsche driver Ayhancan Güven was on. After a fantastic show in both classes, CoRe SimRacing came out on top.
Sindre qualified on pole position in the GT4 class while the TCR squad started their races from 3rd, 5th, 7th and 13th. After a safe start without major incidents in both class fields, a pack of around 4 drivers including CoRe in the TCR class were following the Audi RS3 train behind Sedgwick. Thomas was able to go around Nebelsiek after a couple of laps. Sindre meanwhile was leading throughout the race defending hard against several attacks from Güven behind. Luckily for Sindre, Güven had to save fuel by the end of the race and finished his race as the GT4 winner. In the TCR field, Ross was able to advance to 5th position, Kimmo came home in 3rd to secure a podium result while Thomas, who was able to jump Sedgwick in the pits, won in the TCR class. It was a fantastic performance overall to bring home a delightful double victory and podium result for the team. The broadcast of this race can be found here.
