CoRe Obtained Another Double Podium At The Nürburgring!
The digital Nürburgring Langstrecken Series officially continues – round two was on in their 2020 season. Powered by raceunion and the Virtual Competition Organisation a three hours race around the Nürburgring Nordschleife was on the schedule. After a well-attended media day before the actual race day, CoRe SimRacing competed with two Cup 3 entries and a TCR car. Carl Jansson, Baptiste Boudelier, Sindre Setsaas, Samuel Libeert, Marius Golombeck and Patrick Kubinji was the squad behind the orange, white and black Audi RS3 and Porsche Cayman GT4s.
Samuel qualified the #303 entry on pole position in the Cup 3 class while Carl, who did the hotlap for the #304 Cayman car, had to start the race in 6th. Marius qualified 2nd behind SimRC in the TCR category. After the race started, Carl was able to advance to the 4th position who had a fantastic start. Before going on the Nordschleife section he attacked the cars in front on the GP circuit and even took the lead after a tight draft battle on the Döttinger Höhe. Samuel took a scratch from the armco early on – it made the #303 car fall back to 5th position. Due to damage, Sindre had to take over for the next stint and suffered from a severe top speed loss. A fierce fight around the Nordschleife for P1 gave him a short lead though – but it was not enough. It was taken off him by SimRacing Channel Black who had a flawless race and took advantage from Sindre’s missing performance on long straights. Baptiste, who was the second driver in the #304 entry, tried to keep the lead after Carl acquired a solid gap to P2 behind.
Marius was keeping it clean behind TCR leader SimRC and mostly maintained the 2nd position. After SimRC suffered from a very unfortunate incident with traffic the CoRe driver took the lead. But due to technical problems Marius sadly dropped from the server because of a connection issue. Patrick had to jump in and take the long tow to the pits. As a result of this event the #403 CoRe TCR squad finished the race in 6th. On the other hand, Carl and Sindre finished both CoRe GT4 entries on the podium.
