CoRe Wins Both Cup 3 & TCR Categories at Digital Nürburgring Langstrecken Series Opener!
As the original 2020 VLN season opener at the Nürburgring could not take place today, the series’ organzisers and the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie set up a virtual iRacing event with four classes. CoRe SimRacing drivers Marius Golombeck and Patrick Kubinji were racing in the TCR class in their Audi RS3 while Sindre Setsaas shared his GT4 Cup 3 category Cayman with Carl Jansson.
The Cup 3 CoRe squad qualified on pole position right in front of Coanda Simsport’s drivers Pashalis Gergis and Sage Karam while Marius and Patrick in the TCR class started their race in 4th. A fierce battle through the Eifel started for a distance of four hours. Carl was able to take the lead for the most of the time but had to give the position to Coanda’s GT4 entry after a driving error at the carousel. After his fight back for the lead, Carl gave over to Sindre for his double stint who finished the race as winners. Patrick took over a single stint in the TCR class after Marius had to avoid a massive crash close to the Hohe Acht section. Luckily the squad was able to continue and also crossed the line in first – a secured the double victory for CoRe SimRacing. The live broadcast of the Nürburgring can be found here.
