CoRe Wins Split 2 in GT3 class!
The 2019′ iRacing 12 Hours of Sebring was once again a success for CoRe SimRacing in the iRacing World Tour event section. Despite the team was racing in Split 2 only this time – Sindre Setsaas, Jason Stehney and guest driver Craig Williams were able to secure the victory in the GT3 class. Ronald Großmann, Markus Blohm and Patrick Kubinji, who were fielding an Audi R8 GT3 entry too sadly could not finish the race after their car got damaged in an incident in the early hours of the race.
Markus was only able to qualify the CoRe R8 in the mid fields of the GT3 class while Sindre had to start from the very back of the grid. The start was pretty clean and Sindre immediately attacked the cars in front. He could secure a lot of positions in his first stint. Nevertheless Markus lost the car in sunset bend after he got overtaken by his own team mate. Falling back to the end of the GT3 class field Markus kept going but later one was involved in an incident which ended their GT3 effort. In the meanwhile Sindre gave over to Jason and Craig who were able to continue gaining positions. The sun was going down and the dynamic sky feature of iRacing was shaping the scenery into a fantastic night atmosphere. After 12h of exciting racing, guest driver Craig Williams brought home the CoRe Mercedes AMG GT3 over the line for the win of the Split 2 GT3 category. The next iRacing World Tour event will be the 24h of the Nürburgring.
